Lakes Region Women's Hockey Club consists of women, 21 years of age and up who play at the Laconia Ice Arena once a week, on Tuesday, from mid October and continuing through March from 8:15 - 9:45. There are two teams (red and blue)which are divided equally as to their of level of play who practice for 15 minutes followed by a regular game with referees and goalies. This club has been in existence since 1994.

The Winnipesaukee Ice Cats was started in December of 1998 by a group of women interested in playing other women's hockey teams in the area. It is made up women ranging in age from their early 20's to their mid 50's from the Lakes Region, Concord and Plymouth areas. This travel team typically plays in one or two tournaments a year plus has several travel/home games against other women's teams including teams from Conway, Dover, Hooksett, Concord, Rochester and occasionally teams from out of state. Home ice for the Ice Cats is the Laconia Ice Arena and the New Hampton School ice rink.
